Jerry Lewis Gone At 91

I have to admit I never found him funny, although I liked the original "Nutty Professor." But Jerry Lewis, aka Joseph Levitch, TV pioneer, movie comedian and telethon host has passed away at age 91. They must be very sad in France.

Jerry Lewis dies at 91

The late Clint Nickerson went down to the MD Telethon Lewis hosted back in 1980. You can hear this vintage behind-the-scenes piece here.

Sat in the audience for M.D. telethon back in 1978...about 4 .a.m. at Del Webb's Sahara hotel...

Glad to this day to say I had that opportunity......

Actually that piece is from CFTR, which at the the time was producing a nationally syndicated documentary show called "Sunday Sunday." I think it lasted about a year and half or so before it was cancelled because it was too expensive.
