Advertisers Still Allowed To Write Off Advertising on Foreign Services

This was an issue decades ago when Canadian advertisers could write off the cost of advertising on non-Canadian foreign media like radio, TV and magazines.  This was  pointed out by the local media at the time and the government eventually closed the loop hole and didn't allow any tax breaks for advertising outside of Canada.  Or did they?

Apparently, Canadian advertisers are still allowed to write off advertising on foreigned owned internet media sites.  It was hoped that this would have changed last week with the latest budget but nothing happened.
