Radio thrives on consistency - the person you expect should be on during their regular shift.

But that's not the case on AM640 Friday.

Talk about a mix-up. Check out this one-day line-up of musical air chairs:

-Alex Pierson will be filling in for Ben Mulroney from 9 AM-noon.

-Sharan Kaur, who is already filling in for the vacationing John Oakley, gets off his shift and takes Pierson's place from noon-3.

-So if she's not on Oakley's shift, who is? To complete the circle, Ben Mulroney will be taking over for Kaur who was taking over for Oakley.

Confused yet? Thank goodness it's only for one day!

I think either at least one host needed to change slots for personal reasons, or Oakley's audience wasn't enjoying Sharan's content.

I'm leaning towards the latter.

Hard to say, but she'll be back in for him all next week, too, in his regular timeslot. So I would be surprised if it's listener reaction.

Whatever happened, Pierson made it clear this was a very last minute change and she only found out about it Thursday night. Probably the same for the others, too. Mulroney's been MIA off and on for a few weeks now. My guess - and it's only that - is that he may be behind this.

Pierson said Mulroney will be in Oakley's shift today.

She had quite the start with phone line gremlins. It seems to be sorted out now.

Ben Mulroney admits the shift changing was his fault. He was in Florida for 48 hours and when his flight was cancelled, he had to scramble to get back home. But he wasn't going to be here in time for his 9 AM show, so everyone was shifted around at the last minute and he got back to do the afternoon run.

Have to say I've been listening on Friday and I vastly prefer him to Oakley.

Who is on mornings? Kaur, Not a Kaur, How do I get to 640 Toronto? Kaur, Wait, a minutes, what do I wear when I am in the Kaur? Oakley's, Who is an Oakley? He is the drive home host. Okay, But Who is on mid-day? Mulroney. The former Prime-Minister?

No! Okay, then who is on during the day? Pierson, the late Prime Minister who came up with the Canadian Flag? No. Alex, Is she smart? Yes, to a point...So, let me get this right, she's a Smart Alex, you could say so, then who is on the mornings? Usually Brady, but he's away, where is he? He is driving his Kaur. Oh brother...

So Kaur is on in the morning, Brady is off for a bunch of days and his Kaur didn't get him to work on Thursday, Mulroney s filling in, but he's not the former Prime Minister...No he's Ben. Where has hge Ben? Was he on the mornng show? No!!!

Okay, then we have a smart Alex, but she's not the former Prime Minister either and Oakley is looking cool when ever he's on.

Yes! Exactly!
