I live near Kingston, Ontario and found out today that over the air analog transmitter CJOH-TV-6 on channel 6 (87.75 MHz audio on FM radio) in Deseronto, Ontario between Belleville and Kingston went off the air as scheduled today (October 9, 2020). This transmitter was a repeater of CTV's CJOH-DT Ottawa. I can imagine that CKNY-TV-11 CTV channel 11 Huntsville, Ontario was also shutdown the same day as CJOH-TV-6. There will be more analog transmitters owned by Bell Media scheduled to be shutdown in 2021. https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2019/2019-268.htm

I'm actually surprised they were still on. How many other analog only TXs are there left in this country? This was an issue with some TVO repeaters, as well, back in 2017.

Well RA, since you asked... Concerning Ontario:
CHCH in North Bay, Sudbury, Timmins and SSM. CTV in the same 4 cities plus Kapuskasing and Kearns/Kirkland Lake - the later of which is scheduled to shut down a year from now. It is a full powered [325kW] ch. 11. Also Pembroke's CHRO is still on the air on out-of-band ch. 5

I wonder if anyone actually watches programming off them. I suppose if that's all you can get, analog will do.
