It's likely a rights thing and maybe the game will wind up on CTV here.

But those hoping to watch the Eagles and the Bears play on Nov. 28th won't be able to watch it on Amazon Prime, even though the streamer is making it available for free around the rest of the world.

"The game will be the first NFL event to be presented outside the U.S. on Prime Video, which is available in over 240 countries and territories around the world. But there are some blackouts: The game will not be available in Canada and a few other countries, according to Amazon. The game will also be available on mobile devices in the U.S. with an NFL+ subscription, and outside the U.S. through NFL Game Pass from DAZN, the league’s international streaming partner."

I am sure it will be on one of the Bell properties.  They hold NFL rights in Canada.

I assume this game will be on TSN  and not Prime in Canada

Canada is excluded from the Prime deal every Thursday, and Thursday games are free in the U.S. on Twitch.

CTV2 carries all the Thursday games.

When NFL Network had the rights to the Thursday games, they carried alternate programming in Canada because Bell has the NFL Canadian broadcast rights. It is nice having free acess to the Black Friday and Christmas Day games plus with time shifting, some Sundays I have access to five 1pm games and two or three 4pm games. Americans are stuck with three games period. Unless you live in NY, where you are stuck with the Jets and Giants every Sunday. if there is a big 4:25 game that CBS/FOX wants beamed into NY, you will always find one of the local teams is 1. off  2. playing on a Thursday, Sunday or Monday night.

Yeah, I think Bell paid for exclusive rights in Canada, so why not put the game on Crave?

If that is the case, why does Bell put the Sunday morning NFL games on TSN plus?

DAZN has the Canadian streaming rights

No, they both do, it's non-exclusive. I've also been confused as to why they'd put TNF games on CTV2, seems like a waste to give them away for free OTA

TSN+ also has one of the Sunday 1pm games, usually with teams that are not headed to the post season. Why would they carry a game that is competitive and lose the simsub opportunity?

Misleading heading on this post.  If the free game will be on CTV2/TSN like all of other Amazon Thursday games have been for the past two years, how is Canada "shut out"?  Actually it is the opposite, since we can see the game for free EVERY week.

Obviously you didn't read the quoted text. It plainly says:

The game will not be available in Canada and a few other countries, according to Amazon.

Therefore the heading stands: "Canada To Be Shut Out Of Free Amazon Prime Streamed NFL Game."

In other words, the game cannot be watched over Amazon in Canada. That doesn't mean we can't see it - just not online. Not everyone in this country has access to TSN or has a CTV2 station in their area.

No...the heading was poorly written and misleading.  In your response you got it right..."the game cannot be watched over Amazon in Canada."  That is the point... The point is not Canada being "shut out" of the free game..which is incorrect.  Not everyone in this country has access to Amazon either......So my rebuttal still stands..

Yeesh, talk about splitting hairs...yes we are shut out from watching the game on Prime but not shut out entirely.

Exactly, if anything we have it better since it's in the same spot as per usual, for free.
