City TV And Fox Pick Up Game 7

There was no other drama quite as compelling as Game 7, so both City and WUTV are showing the final game of the ALCS via the Fox Sports feed. This must have been a last minute decision, since all my TV directories had other shows listed. It means if you don't have Sportsnet, you can still watch the game.

I was watching this on City TV and thought they were picking up the Fox Feed - which, of course they were. But at the top of the hour, they aired a station I.D. super. It read "WUTV 29.1 Buffalo." Which means they were literally picking up and retransmitting the Buffalo signal.

Now that's a simulcast I never expected to see on Canadian TV.

And regardless of what they were showing, that was quite an ending. Although if they showed that Home Hardware spot using "Raising A Little Hell" one more time, I might have thrown a fastball at my TV screen...

Wish I had known they were doing this earlier in the evening, but glad I managed to catch the last 5 minutes of a very exciting game.

Fox had better graphics and a larger on air crew.  I did like their hosts fun and enthusiasm.  However in my opinion Sportsnet had better sound quality, camerawork and commentary with Dan, Buck and Hazel during the game.  At times it was hard to hear the play by play on FOX with the loud crowd noise, Sportsnet audio mix was perfect.  Amazing game and series.  Hazel just laughed during John Schneiders f bombs during the interview in the stadium after the game. Love watching the lockeroom celebration that is on right now, and the players moving back out to the field to celebrate with the Blue Jays staff.

Great that Don Mattingly bench coach for the Jays and a professional baseball veteran for 43 years finally gets to go to the World Series.

I noticed Sportsnet put up a warning concerning a live event and the possibility of coarse language.

They sure did, about half way through the celebration and after John Schneider had already dropped the
f bomb twice!

I saw this during the series with New York. I'm not a tv guy so I don't quite understand the bewilderment. I don't know whose signal they would pick up other than Buffalo's.

Quite possibly the most egregious benefactor of CanCon regs.

I'd have assumed a direct network feed.

I'm guessing taking the WUTV feed was just easier.

At the risk of dating myself (much like my 20s), once Seattle started using their bullpen I was pleased to see that for 2.1 innings, they were pitching Woo.

As bad as the the Home Hardware ad is, far worse is the Rogers muticultural dancing family commercial. Are they trying to sell DEI? They are certainly not selling phones and plans. If they are, major fail.

Hi RA,
Maybe I'm behind on my TV tech....but why was the City/Fox feed during the game Friday 15 seconds behind SportsNet?  Where they anticipating F-bombs from the Jays?   Inquiring minds would like to know.

My guess is that they were taking the Fox feed (or should that be the" Foxer" feed?), which was coming off the satellite. There's always a delay between the uplink from the stadium and getting the signal to the studio and on the air. That may have accounted for the difference.

I had a friend who doesn't get Sportsnet and watched it over the Internet, where it was even worse. He was at least three pitches behind the actual game itself.

During game 2 on City, I spotted an ID from WJBK Detroit.

City TVs broadcast started exactly 8pm with straight jump into fox which has the pregame show from 7pm with the anthems before 8pm .Just jump into fox host  mid sentence ,sloppy.City had some glitches with WUTV reception the first game,
