I'm not sure of the year but it probably came out in the 70s. I can't imagine having something like this in my car, but to each his/her own. I guess it was state of the art for truckers back then.

You don't get much more '70s than that! Just stick an 8-track of C.W. McCall's "Convoy" in the deck, crank up the volume, and you're cruisin'.

I had an Audiovox version of this. I remember buying it in the early 80's from a place called Dominion Electronics, which was around Yonge/Wellesley St, I believe. Like Active, they sold surplus electronics. Think I paid $20 for it and I had it in my workshop for many years. It worked well. It had a 40 channel CB with display in the mic handset and channel changer was on the outer shaft of the tuning knob.
