Can We Please Arrive At A Radio Consensus On This NBA Star's Name?

There's no doubt that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is an NBA superstar and the fact he's a Hamilton kid, who was born in Toronto, only adds to the lustre.

So you'd think radio newscasters would be able to figure out how to properly pronounce his name. But I keep hearing Shai "Gil-gus" Alexander and then Shai "Gil-jus" Alexander. Only one of them is right and I think it might be the former. But either way, can we somehow arrive at a consensus on which one is correct and stick to that?

He's going to be around for a while, so it would be nice to finally get it right.

I'm just glad he doesn't go by his full name, which is Shaivonte Aician Gilgeous-Alexander. Imagine how they could butcher that moniker on air!

Hear it straight from the horse's mouth:

Spoiler alert, he pronounces it with a soft 'g'.

As would I now that I've heard the person himself say it.
