He's helped turned Stingray's Boom 97.3 into one of the city's powerhouse radio stations. But come the fall, the music stops for Wayne Webster.

Well, they won’t change on purpose; but Wayne has an ear, experience, and attention to detail that will be hard to replace.

Don’t worry, the MD can’t change the format.    They only follow   what the format is and schedule the daily logs.

Congrats to Mr. Wayne Webster on a fine career!!

He's so good at detail that he programs the music manually song by song. That's very time consuming but it allows for better flow from one tune to the next. The right person can "feel" the flow better than a machine ever could. Programmers who truly know their stuff are the reason BOOM remains one of the top radio listens in the city.

Was Wayne only looking after Boom? Or several Stingray stations?
The music on Rewind also sounds pretty good in Sudbury.

I have never heard of Wayne Webster, but I have heard his work. BOOM97.3 is a well run radio station with an incredibly good selection of music.

Wayne goes way back to the Mix 999 days. I'm not sure if he was there from the original start in the early 90's, but he helped Mix sound amazing. Then he did an amazing job with Boom.

Retiring at the top of your game is a good call but Wayne is at the top of THE game. The best! Congratulations and remember to do a back up before you leave.

The ad for his replacement is already up on Milkman's site.

I wonder if he'll wake us up before he go goes. 🤔

Moore is probably miffed over all the attention that Webster is being shown. 😁

When I held Music Director positions over the years in radio stations, it would take me a few hours to schedule a day.  I’d go over each hour for two things: timing to the next hour and tempo flow.    I’d usually sing in my head part of one song and then the next song also to make sure they sound good back-to-back.     These days with sweeper IDs between each song, they can be used to separate two different tempos.     I loved my work over the years in all of broadcasting.   It was simply FUN!!

Let's make him cry. Like what we did to John Moore.

It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice. 😁
(Except with Moore.)

They use the exact same music logs and imaging as Boom.
