I imagine we'll hear the same requests coming from WBFO and other non-commercial educational radio stations in Buffalo: give more or hear less. And if not, we could disappear altogether. It comes in the wake of the U.S. government cutting back billions in funding for both PBS and National Public Radio.

Meanwhile, I wonder if this will help or hurt the CBC. Many of its shows are heard exclusively down south on the NPR stations, including "Under The Influence." (My sister, who lives in Staten Island, asked me a few days ago if I've ever heard of a show called "Q With Tom Power." I told her yes, it originates here.)

Will they have enough money left to keep buying these ready-made shows from the Corp. or will they have to abandon them, as well? If the latter, the CBC may inadvertently feel the effects of these cuts, too.
