It's been a podcast for a while, but I accidentally stumbled across it on the weekend on CFAJ 1220 of all places. 

It's a show in which two hosts relive the origins of well known groups or artists, playing their early work that was done before they became stars. On Saturday, for example, they offered up a song by a group called The High Numbers, which came out in 1964. Never heard of them? How about by their better known name, The Who?

There was a David Jones tune, before he changed his name to David Bowie, sounding nothing like the guy who helped change music. 

An early Kinks song I'd never heard before was also featured. 

And shades of CanCon, they played the top 5 Canadian songs as listed in RPM Magazine back in 1964, long before the content rules had even been thought of. I'd only heard of two of the songs, but it was still fascinating to hear these 60s tunes that rarely get played (and sometimes for good reasons!)
