I stumbled across this site. Everything you wanted to know about the television industry is here. The History section is 136 pages long. There is a fascinating section on the history of the network studios divided into east and west coast. I have just finished reading the 63 pages on the ABC east coast set up. Lots of photographs, background history and technical information on the studio buildings, cameras and other behind the scenes equipment. Among the rare videos posted are clips of Dick Clark's Saturday night Beech Nut Gum Show, a complete 1958 episode of the Johnny Carson hosted Do You Trust Your Wife [including network promos for Disneyland and Sugarfoot plus two Jello pudding ads done by Carson] There are also videos showing a behind the scenes look at Good Morning America and a five minute tour of the ABC News Room. Hard to believe but their first studio was in a former horse stable, which was still being cleaned out when purchased. And yes the smell lingered for several years. Enjoy!
