I was saddened by the passing of Connie Francis as I grew up listening to her hits on the radio. I interviewed her in Toronto in 1984 when she was promoting her autobiography, "Who's Sorry Now". She was a wonderful interview, but she kept me waiting for half an hour while she was having her make up done. I said to her publicist, "Connie knows this is a radio interview, right?"

When she did arrive, she was charming and very forthcoming. She never stopped loving singr Bobby Darin, even though Connie was married 4 times. Darin was of Italian desent (his real name was Walden Robert Cassotto), as was Connie (Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero). When they started getting serious, Connie's dad confronted Darin with a gun and the relationship fizzled out. Her song "Pretty Little Baby" was used on Tik Tok videos recently, bringing it popularity over 60 years after she recorded it.
