What a treat to hear WNBC's "Time Machine" again. If you're not familiar with it or weren't up late in the old days, every evening after midnight 66/WNBC reverted to a 6-hour show called "The Time Machine." It was a throwback to the classic days of WABC, complete with the original PAMS jingles (resung for NBC), the reverb and some great jocks.

It's going all weekend long for July 4th, and it's just a great memory flogger, which makes me realize how much I miss listening to it all these years later. Wish they'd just leave the originals instead of substituting a better quality version of some songs. I suppose it may have to do with the quality of the airchecks they have available. It just doesn't sound right.
