The takover Is toromoro or sometime this weak.
Here's why.
I was listening to 105.7 both the stream and on the radio and there was music with no station ids saying move 105.7.
That also might have bean one of bell's usiual gliches.
Lets sea and hear what happens.

Move 105.7 station id aired just now.

Then I think it was a bell glich because there was I think 3 to 4 songs played with out the move IDs then comurcials then a move ID then a song.

That means a voicetrack didn't make it to air.

Mistake or Technical issue...   Listener will notice ZERO... I really don't think this moment was noticed by a single listener other than "Radio" people.    Whiteoaks seems to be wanting to do things right and really has to start from square one with most of these stations because they don't own others to fall back on to build from.   They have been running an AM multicultural and an AM brokered religious station.   Both are not operating the same as traditional commercial stations and won't have staff ready to jump in and go.   Bell has left these stations running form other markets mostly.  It takes time and likely Whiteoaks wants to do it right without it being shocking to the listener.   I suspect the only formats that may be changed will be the two they have to change brand names.   I also doubt they will bring back EZ Rock or K-Lite.... such a dated name in today's world.   Whatever they do... it won't be what or how bell is doing it today. 
 

I doubt very much that Whiteoaks would bring K-Lite back to 102.9 as they've been doing well with classic hits on Bounce. Likely the name change will be the only major difference listeners will hear.

IMO, Corus really missed the boat by not going back to classic hits on 95.3. Trying to pass themselves off as a Toronto station in a market glutted by CHR/Adult CHR/Hot AC (or whatever it is they're doing) seemed like a non-starter right from the get-go.

The whole point of that was thinking the recently purged Virgin morning show (Tucker and Maura) was enough of a draw to build a station around. And while they did get some decent ratings in the morning, it all went away after 9, for the reason you pointed out.

Right about that.
As a radio person myself, I notis small things like that and get very excited thinking its a brand change or format change and I listen for teezers.
And, I think whiteoaks wants to do a better job than neeti's doing with CKOC.
CKOC is running more like a streaming playlist and less like a real radio station with community.
Chin was better off bying CKOC and CHAM.
With high-power signals, CHIN would have close to 40 languages on CKOC or CHAM what ever one they want to make ethnic.
And CKOC would be a full-survice station with ethnic programs.

Look at 95.3 today after Tucker and Maura left. They simulcast the morning show from 91.5 The Beat Kitchener just like Virgin 105.3 airs the morning show from London. Also look at Y108 they air the Taz & Jim show from FM96 in London just like Dave Rocks in Kitchener as well. I don’t know how well Y108 or Energy 95.3 does without any local on-air talent but you can say that Y108 might do okay since they are the new home of the Hamilton Ti-Cats football games since 900 CHML shut down last year.

That’s impossible. The revenue to pay for such things simply doesn’t exist in the market.

Then how does zoomer do it and still do good and keep quality?
Zoomer has lots of adds and most of there programing is hosted.

Much more revenue potential in Toronto.

Also, Zoomer loses money. Moses keeps it going for some reason. (The reason: ego)

There is a contradiction in the Ethnic Broadcasting definition which creates a huge loophole:

Definition of ethnic programming:

So it appears that playing all-Punjabi music all the time is excluded under paragraph 14, as is any advertising. Just don't have any spoken word component, in any language, that is ethnic???
