This Thursday's "Law & Order: Toronto" is doing its take on one of Canada's most notorious murder cases. See if this logline, from an episode called "Bitter Pill," rings a bell:
"When a billionaire pharmaceutical CEO and his philanthropist wife are found dead in their home, Graff and Bateman are called to investigate."
It appears to be based on the still unsolved killings of Barry & Honey Sherman, who were found dead in their estate in 2017. It has since become one of the city's (and Canada's) most notorious killings and eight years later, there have still been no arrests.. I'll be curious to see if they include the incorrect conclusions of the actual police, who lost precious investigation time by originally declaring it a murder-suicide.
Of course, this episode is fictional and I'm sure they'll find a culprit by the end of the hour. But the real case continues to baffle experts, including investigative reporter Kevin Donovan of the Toronto Star, who often updates the story with an exclusive that just serves to deepen the mystery.
It airs on City TV Thursday night at 10 PM.
