Because he came into the world on March 29th, in the year of our Lord 1943, today is Eric Idle's birthday. 82 years young.

As there are a goodly number of Monty Python fanatics on the big yellow board I figured Eric's birthday is worth celebrating. Below is the link to the incomparable comedy classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail on the free YouTube movie channel. Heaven knows how many ads are part of the deal but if it's been a while since you've seen it it could a fun time.

Discovering Monty Python's Flying Circus started me on my lifelong appreciation of British comedy and gave me the easiest password to remember 1-2-5-3 If you're a Python devotee chances are you've used the same sequence of numbers.

Eric's fans are busy wishing him a Happy Birthday on social media.

Best wishes to Eric wherever he is this evening and thanks for encouraging me to always look on the bright side of life.

Somewhat dated, but GQ's interview with Mr. Idle is an enjoyable 20 minutes.  I only stumbled across it last year on YouTube.

This post made me think a bit and I realized that I’ve been enjoying Monty Python’s unique brand of humour for over fifty years, wow, happy birthday Eric!

I've posted this before, but some may have missed it. It's an ad that ran in the Sept. 17, 1970 edition of TV Guide for a brand new show on the CBC, never before seen in Canada. Notice how they called it just "Flying Circus."
