The title of the article speaks for itself. But does it tell the truth?

Are you buying any of what it's selling?

Personally, I'd like it to be true, but with college broadcasting courses disappearing, streaming overtaking radio, most college kids not even owning a radio and stations going off the air, I find it hard to believe.

He’s taking to a group who are self-selecting into a broadcasting conference. You can always find a group of people of any age who share just about any interest, but they won’t represent the population at large.

In my experience, young people only really seem to care about podcasts that they can download onto their phones to listen to during their exercise routines or long commutes to work. You're more likely to hear "Radio? What's radio?" if you ask them if they're excited about its future.

I wish I shared Robby Bridges, the author’s, optimism on young people’s attitude towards radio! I have a twenty year old son and even though we listened to all types of radio while using the car, he couldn’t care less about it. He has his own car now and although it has radio, he uses his phone/Spotify/downloads. They have way more options than we did. The times they are a changing!

I'm a young person, and I still get excited about radio.
But, I'm more excited about Internet radio and HD radio.
I listen to more internet radio from sites like iheart and radio from places like australia than GTA fm radio.
The fm stations I listen to most are from brantford and kitchener.
The Toronto fms I like are CHUM, CHFI, Country 93.5 and sometimes CHIN for some upbeat bollywood or serbian music even thogh I don't speak serbian or Hindi, the music has a lot of energy.
If there was a station in Toronto that played ither soft AC or all 90s and 00s pop I would listen to local music radio more
