The longtime 10 AM host arrived at the station on Feb. 22, 2009, but won't get much chance to celebrate his 16 years on 1010's airwaves. Instead, he'll be undergoing surgery on his other knee, an operation that will keep him off the air for up to a week or more.

Brian Lilley will be taking his place for however long his recuperation lasts. He says he hopes to be back on air sooner than the last time his other knee was done, and plans to work from home, even doing some segments on air with Lilley while he recovers.

His final show before going under the knife is Monday.

Congrats! Jerry.
He started off his show with a CBC rant.
He had some good points about our gon far-left national broadcaster.
I hope he continues and bell does not fire him.
Some might think he's to far-right, but I think he's a good conservitave.

My recollection is that he appeared on the station 4 to 5 weeks earlier. He was in Chicago, between jobs, and the terrible earthquake of January 12 occurred in Haiti. Agar flew down there and offered reports to radio - CFRB was one - they liked his work and the rest is 15 years of Liberal tears.

For those who don't like him, they nead to read what you just wrote.
WGN trained him right before he switched to CFRB.
He also stands up for Canada.

He was still on WGN when he got a weekly Sunday night show on WABC, which he did remotely. That was just before he was hired to come to Toronto.

The non-Agar era begins (but may only last a few weeks) as the host gets his knee operation.

He will be replaced by substitute hosts, beginning on Tuesday with the Toronto Sun's Brian Lilley sitting in. He says he'll be back doing  "segments" from home until he's ready to return fulltime.

Hard to say right now when that will be as the recuperation and physical therapy continues.

Ironic someone so political will miss the Ontario election.
