There is a not-so-easy-to-find section on the CP24 website simply labelled "Team." It outlines the background about some of the people you watch on that station everyday.
For instance, did you know that meteorologist Bill Coulter is an actor and singer? According to his bio page, he appeared on both stage and in film, including major roles in "Downsizing" and "Total Recall." He received his meteorology degree in Mississippi, after graduating from what was then Ryerson. Who knew?
Nick Dixon, the co-host of CP24 Breakfast, had some interesting timing. After getting out of college (where he originally graduated with a poli sci degree) he took a job as an intern at Global. His second day in that new position was certainly memorable - it was Sept. 11, 2001. Talk about being thrown into the deep end. Interestingly, for some reason, his bio doesn't mention anything about his time at CHCH.
Former CityTV reporter/anchor Melissa Dugan also has a radio background - she did morning news on the old Flow 93.5.
Jamie Gutfreund is a musician who's been playing gigs in Toronto clubs for decades. His latest group is called "In Living Cover," and he's been with them since 2010.
Jennifer Hsiung, the co-anchor of CP24 Breakfast, began her career covering sports - in Beijing. One of her first assignments was the 2008 Summer Olympics. She's also a stand-up comedian.
Bakari Savage, who fronts the station's 5 PM show, is originally from the U.S., having hosted a slew of programs in Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas and Florida.
Arda Zakarian, is a CP24 reporter now, but originally had internships at some pretty unusual places - including Sesame Street. Wonder if she's still friends with Big Bird?
