Normally, Saturday is a bit of a vast wasteland on CFRB. Outside of the paid commercial shows, it's mostly rerolls.
But not on the first day of the coming weekend. The station has decided to reprise a special it did after last year's City Hall budget, answering listener questions (and, no doubt, complaints) about that almost 7% tax increase announced by Mayor Olivia Chow on Monday.
And talk about an odd couple fronting it. Deb Hutton, a veteran Conservative, will host, alongside special guest (and partial architect of the document) Budget Chief Shelley Carroll, a former Liberal candidate for office. Listeners are invited to grill her on the looming hike and say whether they approve.
It airs live this Saturday morning from 10AM until noon.
