The Southern Ontario/WNY Radio-TV Forum / Q107 Asks Listeners To Fill Out Radio/Tech Survey. How You Can Take It

The survey apparently aims to find out how listeners are using technology and media when it comes to radio. The station claims only "certain" people are being allowed to take part, but since it comes up in an ordinary Google search, I highly doubt that's the case. (It's also clearly not for Q107 only, given the nature of the queries.)

What are they asking in a questionnaire that can take up to 30 minutes to complete? (In an attention starved era, that's quite an ask.)

Here are a few samples:

-How many hours on an average WEEKDAY (Monday-Friday) do you use/listen to any local AM/FM radio stations (using a regular radio OR audio stream on any device)?

-Do you subscribe to any streaming service?

-Why do you listen to AM/FM stations, followed by a list of possible reasons.

-Is there a regular radio in working condition where you live that you use?

-Does your car’s dashboard have the ability to display artist and title information?

-How interested would you be in seeing the following information on your dashboard display that was synced up to what you were hearing on the radio, whether it is music, information, sports, or something else?

I filled out the survey, I did find it long and very generic. I found many questions focused on what would it take to keep you listening to AM/FM radio in your car. There were really no questions specifically about Q107.
You could very easily insert any brand or call letters you want.
Over all a nice survey but you need time to fill out all the questions.

I took it, too, and it's clearly not from Q107 or Corus. It looks like a research company that is doing work for radio organizations. There are no Q107 specific questions and it's very generic. Still interesting to take, though, just to see what info they're trying to compile.

As long as they're not collecting names or IDs, I'm fine with it.

I got one out west from one of my station newsletter sign ups....so yes it is Corus. It is Jacobs Media, a known radio research company. You can see Jacobs Media identified in the links to the survey.

But yes, was very generic. It identified the station specific questions as "THE STATION THAT SENT YOU THE SURVEY"....so Corus must have used it nationwide and didn't bother to set the station specific strings in the questions.
