I was listening to CHAM, and I just heard a host speaking fully in punjabi.
All I got out of it is they mostly call themselvs cina radio.

I know.
He's breaking a lot of CRTC rules.
Its like when CHSC was on the air.
They should swich to country or a full survice format before the CRTC finds out and make 98.7 HD capible and put the punjabi programs on a subchannel.

I don't mind reading about this here, but what if the CRTC itself does not read this board?
File a complaint. The CRTC might actually do something, giving them the same treatment (or first a warning, maybe) that CHSC got.
One main difference here is that CHSC was evenings and weekends for Radio Uno.

CHAM/BIG FM seems to be all the time, which should officially be a more serious offence...unless an agreement is made to change the broadcast licence to be a multicultural licence.
CHSC was given that chance, but the owner declined.
So, CRTC shut them down.
Maybe, if it can be approved, all that has to be done is a change of broadcast licence...

With all his experience in ethnic broadcasting, neeti should've been smart and changed the broadcast licence before he bot CHAM instead of convinsing the CRTC that it won't be an ethnic format.

The sad truth is that he'll probably make a lot more money with ethnic programming than any so-called mainstream format - especially on AM.

But, he should fallow the rules.
Change the licence, add programing for more ethnic groups and add more programing in other languages other than punjabi.

Sofar, I've heard an add in a mix of punjabi and english about freedom mobile.
No other adds yet.
And, by the way, the store was located I think in brampton or toronto, not hamilton.
