I don’t know if anyone here knows of this person , it seems that he had impressive credentials in the broadcast industry.
Some excerpts from his obituary:
“Ed's professional career commenced as a Broadcast Engineer at RCA in Montreal. During this time, he met his wife, Lucie, who is from Asbestos, Quebec. They moved to Toronto, where Ed took on the lead engineer role at Imagineering Ltd., a new company formed to design and build the Global TV network; his strength lay in deep theoretical knowledge of radio engineering and a natural ability to build to completion. Over decades, Imagineering designed and built broadcast properties across Canada and abroad, including first of a kind "JumboTRON" at the SkyDome in 1989, production facilities for the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, coordination of antennas on the CN Tour and countless AM, FM and TV properties.”

I worked with him numerous times before he retired, on a number of broadcasting projects. It may seem trite, but he was a really nice guy and always a pleasure to work with. He was of a diminishing generation of P. Engs, who had worked on most of the transmitter sites both in Toronto and other cities, so he had a vast knowledge of the issues for each site. RIP Ed.

I have the same comments about Ed. He consulted with me on several technical projects including the original Home Shopping (CHSN) design and installation as well as several FM technical briefs for various clients. One of the good guys for sure. Low profile high expertise. Sorry for his family's loss. RIP.

I knew Ed well, and he was an excellent engineer with an eye for detail. Part of the "RCA Mafia" during the halcyon days when RCA Montreal was a powerhouse for broadcast engineering and manufacturing.

Never met the guy myself, but when I worked at Global a few years ago, there was still some remaining evidence of his work. No one does engineering like that anymore.
