I came across this Reddit post a few days ago. Poster is looking to find an old documentary or news report about Sikh-Hindu conflict in Canada, and offers this comment:
“This documentary, published by CBC’s The Fifth Estate, includes footage from an older documentary or news report. Could someone please help me find the original report? The footage appears from 7:06 to 7:20 and again from 8:40 to 9:02.”

The poster also wishes to identify the reporter, in the older clip, sitting at the desk with a pile of newspapers or documents in front of him. I thought it might be Eric Malling with a late 70s/early 80s haircut, but I’m not sure.
Poster did contact CBC for assistance but didn’t hear back from anyone.
I thought that some here might find this an interesting challenge, given the collective institutional memories of many members! In the second clip, I could only identify Flora MacDonald, which would put it between 1979 and 1980.
Thanks for any help!
