This is only tangentially radio related, but it's so amazing I just had to post this. Alex Jones, the horrendous subhuman who puts out awful conspiracy theories (including accusing the parents of kids killed in a terrible school shooting of faking the loss of their children) has been successfully sued out of his online platform "Infowars."

That's the site where he used to spread his false poison to the world.

But it's the organization that bought the rights to the name that is simply perfect - it's The Onion, the satirical website that makes fun of the news and whose headlines and made-up stories are so bizarre, they often make headlines themselves.

Talk about justice being served!

Jones claims he has an alternative site ready to go and vows to keep on sending out his message of conspiracy to the world. But this is one Onion that surely has to leave a bad taste in his mouth. What a perfect ending to a tragic and terrible story.

I actually like onions in most forms, except actually raw.
Give me a good French onion soup on a cold winter's day anytime.
As for Alex Jones, it's so discouraging that such a person who became a degenerate circus clown is now actually not much worse, in fact even no worse than the average Trump cabinet appointee.

I've never visited Infowars once, but went there on Friday, just to see what they were doing or if there was any Onion influence yet. There's not much to see. On an all white background, in the middle of the screen in very small letters you see this:

That's probably the most honest thing that's ever appeared there.

Well, that was fast. It appears troublemaking false news host Alex Jones is back in control of his Infowars site, after a judge put a temporary hold on the Onion's claim to ownership. There appears to be some dispute over the auction process that let the satire site get hold of the rights to the title and its webpage.

According to the AP, the Onion had planned to shut down the site and relaunch it next January as a satire on conspiracy theorists. That could still happen, pending the outcome of the case, but Jones appears to have it back at least for now.

Hopefully, justice can prevail. But I'm still rooting for this to be a satirical piece on his regaining control!

Still, it was fun while it lasted.

RA, please close this thread. Once again, a thread has gone political and it has nothing to do with radio or TV, just a website. I am sick and tired of these partisan political posts on this board, and because of this garbage, I am once again considering shutting down my account and never again visiting this board.

As usual, it only takes one bad apple to apple to spoil the whole bunch. A shame they can't seem to avoid this.

I have to take some blame for this, though. I put this story up, only because the irony was simply too good to ignore. Perhaps I should have known it would take this turn.

Fair to note, though, that this isn't over and a judge may yet decide to give it back to the Onion.
