I listened to about an hour of Brian Lilley on RB yesterday. He sounds confident enough on air and on the technical side handled everything fine. He also does have a radio background, so this came through.
His show was more or less about Tuesdays US election. He really seems to have a thing about CBC which he brought up a few times in the time I was listening. He said that all of the CBC hosts were coming unglued and sad when it was obvious that Trump was going to win.
Not true. I watched a lot of CBC's coverage and this didn't happen that I saw. They had a couple of live reports from a Republican watch party bar in Washington speaking with happy rowdy patrons, and host David Cochran seemed to be enjoying himself in the crowd. Rosie Barton agreeded with the Republican pundit they had on as a guest on why Trump won, and she added some points of her own, which were critical of the Democrats. Rather than upset, they like all other commentators I was watching on Tuesday were more surprised at the strength of the win.
CBC's coverage was quite good and I thought fair from my POV, and the hosts including the Democrat and Republican guests were getting along well on air. Not the way that Lilley was trying to portray it on the radio yesterday. I am not a Justin Trudeau fan, but Lilley also was attempting to do the same with the Liberals and Trudeau every 20 minutes or so yesterday.
He was starting to come across the same way as his exaggerated one sided columns in the Sun...
