This ad for WKBW in Buffalo from Nov. 1965 looks pretty ordinary, until you consider the map that's included in the pic. It shows Oshawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Burlington, Niagara Falls and St. Catharines amongst the places winners could be found.
In these days of simsub and cable, it's easy to forget there was a time that Buffalo TV cared about the Canadian audiences who were watching and actually included them in their advertising and contests. (And until the government intervened, a lot of Canuck companies also advertised on Buffalo channels.)
Today, we would likely not get a mention - even if we remembed Nolan Johannes and knew the count from the amount.
