His name was Lee Alan, known as "Lee Alan On The Horn" during his years on various stations, which included WJBK, WJLB and WXYZ. He was one of the first American jocks to get an interview with the Beatles and also hosted a teen dance party show on WXYZ's Channel 7. 

Lee Alan made it to the ripe old age of 90.
