I have to admit, I am a CFL fan (having grown up in Ottawa it was the only pro-sport in the city until the Sens came back into the NHL).

Randy Ambrosie, former Argo, businessman and the current Commissioner announced today, that he is stepping down after the Grey Cup in Vancouver in November.

I feel from growing the league and the media coverage that he has done a good job. The Grey Cup, the one off games in the Atlantic, and this year in Victoria...have been successful.

It will be interesting to see who takes over and what the impact of Rogers being the "Kings" in the sports and sports media business will be on who becomes the new commissioner.

I also feel, that the new commissioner will need to expand media horizons in Canada and the U.S. and will also nee to tap into kids in Canada and have them become future fans...which can be a challenge given the ethnic diversity in Canada and football not being the sport of choice.

I have watched parts of 2 games this weekend I must say the game last night between Hamilton and Ottawa and today's last second field goal that Winnipeg booted to win a walk off against Montreal, were wild and fun to watch.

One thing the CFL can't do is do not compete against the NFL, The CFL is unique and has history.

This will be an interesting story to watch and the media implications will come into play, One of ther key things is renewing the media rights with Bell Globe media's TSN and also, to expand the brand into Mexico and in Eastern Canada.

Media plays a big part of the success of the League. They are also on air in the U.S. and need to maintain or grow it.

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...
