The Southern Ontario/WNY Radio-TV Forum / CTV 2 Simulcasting the National News at 5:30PM

You may remember last year CTV announced the new 5:30PM national newscast on CTV and the CTV News Channel. But now I noticed that they are now simulcasting the 5:30 national newscast on the CTV 2 stations. It includes: Vancouver Island, CTV 2 Alberta, Windsor, London, Barrie, Ottawa and the CTV 2 Atlantic station as well.

The Sudbury CTV2 location has been airing the 5.30 pm newscast for some time already.

There’s no Sudbury CTV2 that I know of. Are you referring to CTV Northern Ontario?

I think he might be refering to the CTV2 station in Barrie that is also carried on cable in Sudbury.

CIVI/CTV2 Victoria has been simulcasting CTV National 5:30 since its launch. When Bell decimated that station they started simulcasting CTV Vancouver's entire 5 PM hour. (CIVI does a live 4:30 newscast presented out of Vancouver, and repeated at 6 and 11 PM).

Yes, Sudbury is a regular CTV outlet, and is known as CTV Northern Ontario. Perhaps I was thinking of Barrie, I don't remember, cripes it sucks getting old.
