Hard to believe the show has been on that long, yet it has. The hosts were Ann Roemer, David Onley, John Whaley and Steve Anthony with live in the field cut ins,

I haven't watched it in a while as my morning rituals are more about meditating, journaling and getting in the mindset to take on the day, plus I try to shut out the news to start the day.

Someone sent me this random pic from the old City TV newsroom, sometime near or after 1985. This was still at 299 Queen St. W. Gotta love those old typewriters!

Can you even buy typewriter ribbon, or carbon paper for that matter.
I'd love to show a sheaf of carbon paper to a gen Z-er and ask them what to make of it.

I used to watch BT in the 90s, it was a decent morning show back then. I always liked Steve Anthony’s antics, and I always liked Kevin Frankish, David Onley and Ann Rohmer. It was less serious than Canada AM or whatever CBC Newsworld had at that hour, but they were intensely local with traffic weather and news.

To this day I still remember learning about the arrest of Paul Bernardo on BT, in a bulletin from David Onley.

Can’t speak for the show in more recent years.

BTV was successful in its early years because it wasn't Canada AM.
But Canada AM in it golden period of the 70's and 80s was superb.
It broke real hard news stories and had hard-hitting interviews with expert guests.
BTV on the other hand had really talented entertaining hosts like Anne and David Onley (future lieutenant gov.)
Kevin Frankish was smooth and breezy for the mornings.
And yes, BTV was staunchly Toronto and GTA dedicated.
Too bad Canada AM devolved into stupid fluff with live bands and cooking features while BTV just for lamer and lower budget.
Oh well, at least they never said, "Let's keep it classy, Toronto."

Almost no one remembers that CBLT used to have a morning show of its own. The fact no one remembers may be one reason it didn't last long.
