Sportsnet released the TV schedule on their website today and we're in for plenty o' baseball this next month. Now not all games will be the Sportsnet feed, we may get YESN and the Boston feeds...but in my books, baseball is baseball.

On the article, they detail the broadcast team for the spring training period, no mention of Buck Martinez, Madison Shipman or Caleb Joseph, who I quite like (Joseph that is). He is animated and passionate about teaching and sharing the fundamentals of the game.

Now, can he teach the fundamentals of signing your best player to management? (Umm, apparently not)

Here is more on the story.

Haven't seen anything yet about the radio plans, but if previous years are any indication, it's usually mostly weekends only until the season starts.

I guess it's just me but I can't give a sh**&&t about baseball or any other pro team sports for that matter.
and who cares what is on radio about them?
If you are a sports fans you already know where to get your fix on the internet or OTA broadcasts.
Or online for that matter.

You and RA would get along well. He is not a fan of sports also. Mostly because football and golf always delay the start of 60 Minutes.

I will be glad to see the Jays back on TV.  Baseball talk and training camp means that winter is in the home stretch.  Can't come soon enough this year!

Actually, baseball is the only sport I pay attention to. I do follow and root for the Jays, although the Shapiro-years have not left me much to root for.

I'm not sure if this is exclusive only to the U.S. or all of North America, but there could be at least one Jays game we won't see here during the regular season. Roku, as noted in an earlier thread about American Idol, has notched the rights to Sunday afternoon MLB games on its online channel and one of them, on July 20, features the Jays against the Giants.

It's exclusive at least to the U.S. I'll be curious to see if it's on Sportsnet's list of regular season games when it comes out with its schedule for the season. Apple TV+ already has a long term exclusive deal with Major League Baseball for Friday night games, meaning we lost a few of them on Sportsnet last season, because the agreement encompasses all of North America.

I think this is the old Peacock package, and Sportsnet was allowed to show those games.  As Roku is available in Canada, they may have exclusive rights, or not.

Last season, there was one Jays game which aired on Roku, and that game was on Sportsnet as usual, but I was also able to catch the Roku feed. I would assume it will be the same arrangement this year.

Ben and Buck are calling the game today on both TV and Radio... it is good to hear and watch the game if only for a little while today.

It's Spring training, don't watch a bunch of no-names.  Wait till the season starts.  The same broadcast crew doesn't hold much hope for "only the game" talk.
