Maybe there is something to the trending feature on Bell and Rogers. All during the weekend the three Canadian news networks were often in the top 5 whenever I checked. CBC News Network was #1 a few times and always in the top 3. CTV News Network also showed up, I had never seen them in the top 5 before. Great ratings for The National.

Anecdotal, but I know several people who never watch TV news -- until things get serious -- and all of them go to CBC then.
