The Southern Ontario/WNY Radio-TV Forum / Is CTV News at Six Really Toronto's Number One Newscast

We will probably never know because the actual ratings are extremely difficult to find, if at all. However, using the Rogers Ignite Trending site, I discovered the following in tonight's 6pm hour. CTV News on CP24 [2] CTV News on CFTO [5] CITY News [7] CTV News Barrie [13] CBC Toronto News [14] CHCH News [15] CTV Kitchener News [19] No idea of actual numbers, but it does give you an idea of viewer preference. One Caveat. CP24 has the advantage of being on in almost every bar in the city where there may or maynot be any viewers.

The last time I saw those ratings, CTV was consistently #1.

A large portion of those CP24 public displays wouldn’t count towards ratings as the TVs are muted.

What geographic area does this cover? Is it just the GTA or a wider area that includes Kitchener and Barrie?

Interesting that there’s no Global on this list.

Global News was there but in the 30's. The Buffalo and Seattle stations show up depending on the show. The CBC/CTV/Global/CITY stations also show up. For example. the Y&R is top 10 in the 12:30 slot when it airs on CBS. It shows up again at 4:30 on Global and is top 20 when it airs on Global Vancouver at 7:30.

Right now on Bell Fibe they are showing the ball game on SN as first, Survivor on Global next, CNN with Anderson Cooper, Chicago Med on City and The Golden Bachelor on ABC Detroit. No Bell programming in the top 5.

Funny, I use to only check it maybe a 3 or 4 of times per week. But since talking about it on here I am looking more often. Glad you are enjoying it!
