A site that explores the building of sets turns its eyes on City TV's revamped Breakfast Television set. Plus it also features a link to their old one, from 2017-2025.

It’s so generic, like it could be anywhere. At least in the Yonge/Dundas set, you could see out the windows, and the hosts could go to the upstairs terrace, or the weather could be broadcast from the balcony. This new set is just boring.

And to think the original set was basically in Citytv’s lobby at 299 Queen West in Toronto and wasn’t your traditional talk show type arrangement, completely street front. They also had some type of musical guests on most days and my favourite memory was arriving at work one morning while the Troggs were in the lobby performing “Wild Thing”, a fun start to my workday! Great memories.

Agreed but it needs to be if the rumour about Dina being in Toronto for one week a month is true. Can't run a pretape interview from a snowy day in March on May 17th if the studio has windows.

I once worked with a TV personality who spent his vacation growing a beard and it looked great. He had to shave it three or four days after returning from vacation because the show was running an interview they'd taped before his vacation had started. He had to shave for "continuity".

What's sad is that nobody wants to chance taking a few seconds to explain it to the audience. Five seconds of explanation has a habit of turning into "earned trust".
