Interesting article on the evolving refinement of AI. Having worked in marketing on the client side as well as with an ad agency and in radio, the sophistication of AI will have a massive effect on advertising and ACTRA.

Here's another AI-related story about a hoax involving a non-existent band that seemed all too believable. (Do they count as CanCon if they were created here but don't actually exist?)

"A man using the pseudonym Andrew Frelon posed as the spokesperson for a band called The Velvet Sundown — which he later said he had no involvement with — creating a media frenzy that propelled the AI-assisted band to a million monthly listeners on Spotify."

How a Canadian’s AI hoax duped the media and propelled a ’band’ to streaming success

It's got a long way to go. Here's a gem from our buddy Toronto Mike:

https://www.torontomike.com/2025/07/dont-believe-ai/Now when you Google something, you get an AI Overview. I'm not sure what the point of this AI Overview is considering how often it's just plain wrong.Google's AI thinks FOTM Mike Stafford is the Mike hosting Toronto Mike'd.
"Toronto Mike" refers to Mike Stafford, a well-known figure in Toronto media. He previously worked in radio, notably on 640 (now Global News Radio 640 Toronto), but left that position. He now hosts the "Toronto Mike'd" podcast, where he discusses various topics and interviews interesting guests.
Obviously, this is completely wrong. Further down, AI gives you a "more detailed explanation".
