It's not one of Toronto's most talked about stations, but a well known radio consultant has had a long distance listen to CIND-FM, at 88.1 in Toronto. And he really likes what he hears.

I concur. Since the format massaging over the last several months I am really enjoying the mix of tunes which also makes it less predictable and the latest ratings are their best yet.
As for comparisons to the Edge, the gap is much wider now. Edge and many other stations have their hosts existing almost separately from the music. They barely acknowledge what's being played, much less talking about it. There are those who say that sort of thing is a waste of time because anyone who wants to know about the music will just Google the info themselves. Again, it comes down to presentation...hit them with an interesting quick fact or two and people will listen.
That said, one shining moment for Edge is the addition of Drex in the afternoon. great offbeat personality who shakes things up with a couple interesting features and audience engagement.
The bottom line - Be less predictable in what you play and what you say.
