During the Sunday Morning Trivia show today, CFRB aired the CP hourly newscast.  Even though I'm a BN alumnus, it was odd hearing a 1010 newscast talk about the BC and NB elections, the Middle East, the US election -- and nothing about the overnight Toronto police beat.  This likely won't be the last Sunday there's no one in the once-fabled CFRB news room.

Why bother?  Does anybody actually listen to that trivia snooze-fest.  Credit to Agnew, he does seem to work hard on research and enthusiasm, but the regular parade of clueless stiffs who line up to get a 20 dollar Tim's card is too painful to suffer on a Sunday morning.

The “Toronto overnight police beat” is relevant to basically nobody.

But the weekend police blotter news usually has enough content to fill the time.
Where else would we know about the latest nightclub shootings or stabbings, or the single vehicle car into tree with drunk driver accounts?
And of course the latest pedestrian flattened by a truck story because the person on foot crossed against a red light with head down texting and listening to ear buds.
And who wouldn't want to listen to Agnew spend ten minutes explaining what convoluted trivia game he's cooked up.  I stopped listening after one morning realizing he had gone on and on about explaining the rules and prizes and what he did with his girlfriend yesterday, and about 35 minutes had gone by without a single trivia question.
