It's called "TV On The Edge," and it examines how TV shows can sometimes influence what happens in the real world.

Among the issues explored in the docuseries: U.S Vice-President Dan Quayle responding to the fictional Murphy Brown about having a child out of wedlock, Ellen DeGeneres coming out as a lesbian on her series (after joking on talk shows that she really said she was "Lebanese,") and Oprah Winfrey dragging out a wagon full of fat on her show to demonstrate her weight loss.

"Featuring never-before-heard details from those who were there and commentary from celebrities, TV insiders, politicians, journalists, comedians, and culture critics, the series showcases the power of television, the legacy of these iconic events, and the impact they have had on our lives."

This looks like a must-see for those into TV history. The four part series debuts on CNN Sunday, Sept. 22nd, pending any important breaking news.

Just a reminder for those interested and may have forgotten to set their DVRs, that this special, about the intersection of fictional TV and real life, airs on CNN tonight (Sunday) at 9 PM. I believe it repeats at midnight.

I have been looking forward to this for weeks, they showed a few excerpts the last couple of days on CNN and it looks pretty good. DVR locked and loaded, so to speak!

Yes.  Thanks RA for the reminder.  I totally forgot about it.  My PVR is all set as well.
