Mark Rubio had a press conference with comments and questions regarding the war with Iran around 3:45 this afternoon. About 90 seconds into the presser the screen scrambled on CNN with no sound. It then cleared up in time for the final question about 10 minutes later. All of the other news networks that I receive (BBC, CBC, CTV) had no issues with the picture or sound. Did anyone else notice this? I thought it was maybe a Bell Fibe issue, but all of the other channels were fine.

CNN often has technical issues whenever a Republican is talking.

I think it was a technical problem, and I don't know if it was everywhere or localized. I have seen this happen before but always thought it was a satellite issue since it would affect more than one channel. CNN used many clips from the press conference all evening long as did everyone else. They don't usually have many long technical problems. Just the usual moments of dead air and remote guest audio issues or temporary video freezing with overseas reports. But this time it lasted about 10 minutes.

I do not know for certain which domestic satellite CNN is using for their feed to BDUs.
However, I do know that CNN affiliates and CNN Newsource are delivered on SES 2, and CNN has sent an advisory that there are now issues with the SES 2 satellite transponders that they use. CNN indicates that they will be coordinating a move to an entirely different satellite for Newsource distribution.
My guess is that either the SES 2 bird has suffered some type of damage or component failure, or, that it is just starting to end its useful reliable life span.

Maybe Rubio tripped a BS breaker? Similar to a circuit breaker, but detects an overload of bureaucratic obfuscation. 🤔

I did'nt watch, I stay away from the dump of a country they call the states.
I listen to 1010 or even lbc online for there commentary.
Lbc is the best for uncovering the mess in the states.

It happened again today, exactly the same as yesterday at the same time, roughly 3:44 to 3:57 this afternoon. No mention of any problems on air.

Sounds like the bi-annual sun outage is occuring! I see that this will be happening this week and a bit into next depending which satellite you are looking at. This occurs twice a year!

Bingo! Happens in the spring and fall/winter. You can tell when it’s happening as it occurs around the same time each day, as paterson1 mentioned. When I lived in Saskatchewan it was pretty brutal, every afternoon for a week or two, right during the “soaps”! I worked for a cable company and the phone would ring off the hook, back when phones were on hooks!

Not sure how many caught little Marco's walk back from the first statement he gave for the war rationale but it was pathetic and you could clearly tell he was lying and trying to save face but the worst offender has to be the macho secretary of war Pete Hegseth and his press conferences.
He says the US does not need to adhere to international law in the conduct of war. I guess that's why he showed off the downing of a ship in international waters by a torpedo very far from the theatre of war. One in a long line of examples of similar behavior. At least he said that the bombing of 165 school girls is being investigated, I was expecting him to say that the media is only asking about that to make his president look bad. Does not take away from the fact that it sounded like war as conducted by Tony Soprano. The general besides him was much more "sober" and less prone to theatrics and only time will tell if his prognostication will be correct.

Give credit where credit is due. I saw some actual reporting on CNN just now where they were interviewing a retired general major about Trump's assertion that Iran was responsible for the bombing of the girl's school. Audie Cornish was interviewing a retired major about Pete Hegseth's gangster type rhetoric and the new US "unshackled" rules of engagement. The Major General said he has been extremely disturbed by what he has seen over the last year.
BTW one thing I have not heard a single person on the mainstream media ask about this situation is how could it have been Iran when this was part of a three or four punch opening salvo in the war. Have heard that on a number of podcasts though.

Wow after the CNN example I just cited above two more examples of actual journalism, especially by the second reporter here. Impressive pushback, the likes of which have been mostly absent but glad to see that it seems to be resurfacing.
I can't embed because it's a YT "short" but well worth viewing in case you missed the presser live as I did.
