First it was Irv Weinstein passing away.  Now Rick Azar.  Tom Jolls is still with us and the last of that famous Buffalo trio that I grew up on.

Dave Thomas who was also a WKBW weatherman in the 60s and 70s and is best remembered as the host of Rocketship 7 and Dialing for Dollars is still with us at 85. He moved to  WPVI-TV Philadelphia in 1978 where he changed his stage name to Dave Roberts and had a long career as a weatherman and co-host of AM Philadelphia until his retirement in 2009.

Here's a really charming video of him (and his son, actor David Boreanaz) returning to Buffalo (and visiting his favourite restaurant) two years ago. He talks in it about his early career in Buffalo.
