Crave To Retain HBO Programming In Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger

If you subscribe to Crave, you've probably watched at least some HBO programming on the service, as part of Bell's agreement with the U.S. pay cable network.

That shouldn't change if the merger between Paramount & Warner Bros. (which owns HBO) is approved, and the streamer says its contracts will stay in place no matter what happens down south.

As the Broadcast Dialogue link below indicates, there are also questions about how the deal may affect Rogers and Corus, which also have deals with the WB.

Crave to remain home to HBO content in Canada ‘for the foreseeable future’

The thing that hasn't been addressed that's of interest to me (and probably only a few others in Canada) is what happens to that other long time major pay cable network in the U.S., Showtime. Recently renamed Paramount+ with Showtime, it creates a kind of bizarre irony for those who've followed this for years.

HBO and Showtime were for years bitter pay cable rivals down south. Now, for the very first time, they're going to be owned by the same company. HBO is by far the more well known service so what, if anything, it means for its competitor remains to be seen.

Re: Crave To Retain HBO Programming In Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger

While on the topic of tv channels, I noticed HGTV, Bravo and Discovery are all back on Eastlink, as well as  the channels that had originally replaced them , Home, USA and Flavour. I am getting caught up on Expedition Unknown and Moonshiners before they possibly disappear again.
