How To Access "The VHS Vault" Free Online

Only a site like The Internet Archive could come up with this one. It's called "The VHS Vault" and it has contributions from hundreds of people who submitted long forgotten video they recorded (or bought) on VHS tapes in the pre-DVR days.

There are literally thousands of shows, movies, even classic TV commercials to watch there, all for free, and some of them are pretty eclectic. The site boasts an array of different bits of video and images, including old kids programs, news clips, and even the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination in 1963.

A tremendous time waster, but you're sure to find something interesting if you search long enough.

Find it here.

This is quite the site and you can get lost in there! A tremendous time waster is putting it mildly, thanks for sharing RA.

The complete Ken Burns [all 18 hours] documentary on the History of Baseball is there. If you have never seen it, I guarantee it is NOT a pleasant little time waster. You WILL learn a great deal about the sport. I know I did when PBS first ran it back in 1994.

I think Ken Burns could (should?) probably add a few "update episodes" to cover off the last thirty years - a lot has happened since. I'm a bit reluctant to watch it simply because it's that old - it likely references Roger Maris as the home run king. I loved his Vietnam War series from a few years ago - the man does great work.

On-topic: this website could very well eat every second of my life if I let it. What a terrific rabbit hole.

The problem with any update from Ken Burns is the funding cuts to PBS down south. I'm not sure if there's any money available for a Part II. And that's a real shame.
