So you’re going to trust the New York Slimes over what PBS claimed on their very own website? Somebody’s lying. Or maybe both the Slimes and CPB are guilty of a little nose stretching.
Ah well, enjoy your little foot stamping histrionics. What’s next on your Dial Twister Tantrum-A-Palooza? I’m guessing you also have a fiercely heterosexual dislike of Sylvia Sidney Sweeney Todd.

Just who exactly is at fault with CPB going teats up? Apparently the cheapo’s like you who donate to NPR and PBS. From the PBS Endowment Fund page…
Because PBS is commercial-free, many people mistakenly believe public funding provides the bulk of our resources. In fact, federal funding provides only about 15% of the revenue for the public television system. That’s an investment of $1.40 per taxpayer per year.
Because of you cheap chiselers who’ve failed to pick up the donation slack Big Bird, Elmo, Bert, Ernie and the poor souls forced to give Ken Burns his haircut are now destitute. I hope you non-donors are satisfied.

Passing sort of under the radar (sorry…) George Kooymans aged 77 this past Tuesday.
Founding member of Golden Earring of Radar Love and Twilight Zone fame. Oddly I have more Golden Earring tunes on my iPad thingy than I have Ozzy/Sabbath and Chuck Mangione combined. Two Earrings to zero of the other guys. Three, if we’re counting the Earring adjacent Stars On 45.
Pouring out a Grolsch for Kooymans.

Now that’s funny. Colbert and Stewart and likely all the others yelling eff you? Not so much. I’d say Paramount-Me chose wisely in dumping Colbert and backing up the Brinks truck to Parker and Stone.

Kubrick wasn’t pleased with any of the one hundred plus takes so he decided, Bill O’Reilly-like, to do it live. But a time wasting distraction was needed in order to set up the studio. Hello Teddy. Goodbye Mary Jo.
Why do you think “Neil” and “Buzz” left the LEM six hours before their scheduled EVA? Kubrick had the light composition just right and went for it.
Good Lord that’s so stupid it’s almost believable.
”Buzz” would punch me out for it, though.

CBS no doubt thought they were getting the Comedy Central Colbert when they signed him. The over-the-top right wing parody that actually was funny. Sadly CBS got the earnest finger wagging scold who sniffed his own farts.
Mid 2020 during Lockdownpalooza Colbert inveighed against trusting any “cure” for the W**** H******** that evil Big Pharma had in the works. Less than a year later there he is with the hypodermic needle costumed Juul Haalmeyer Dancers shimmying to The Vax-Scene.

Who was Colbert’s main guest on the episode he announced his cancellation? Adam Schiff.

Nilsson’s “Girl Friend” was repurposed and gender swapped for the Theme for Courtship of Eddie’s Father (or was it vice versa?)
The lyrics were so simple and easy to sing along to even a ten year old idiot like me could do it.
Series star Brandon Cruz released an album featuring several versions of the theme including Cruz singing with Nilsson and one with him and Mickey Dolenz. There’s also a version sung br “Eddie’s Father” Bill Bixby.

ABC’s show poodle Muir was the dimbulb wearing a faux ABC fireman’s jacket (???) covering the Palisades fires last winter. Okay, big deal. Until he turned sideways revealing the clothespins cinching in the jacket to be more form fitting. He’s been wearing two sizes too small t-shirts this week in Texas.
The show poodle really goes out of his way to prove the William Hurt character from Broadcast News was a role model.
Figures as The View is produced under the auspices of the News Department at ABC.

In the dark days before the interwebs and before the company ponied up the dough for cable in the newsroom it was Miller’s play-by-play that kept us in the loop with the World Juniors.
I was thinking just the other day (a rarity) about the Canada USSR 1972 Summit Series. Foster was coaxed out of retirement for the tv side but who did the radio for the CBC? I know it was on radio as we had recess during the intermission of Game 8 and some smart classmate had brought a transistor so we could listen out in the playground before coming back in to watch periods 2 and 3 on the tv in our classroom.

Currently reading “Turning Points” by Ray Argyle about the fifteen political campaigns that changed Canada. I’m more interested in the chapters dealing with the elections before 1957 as I’m not as familiar with those ones.
On deck is John le Carre’s “The Quest For Karla” omnibus publication of “Tinker Tailor…”, “Honourable Schoolboy” and “Smiley’s People”. I don’t usually buy these editions as the pages are often cheap tissue paper but this was put out by le Carre’s publisher Knopf and is printed on good paper. Plus for three bucks from the thrift store, it’s a bargain. I’ve read them on separate occasions in the past and have decided to read all three in one go this summer.
Finally how about “War and Peace” by Tolstoy? Over the winter I read Andrew Roberts’ bio of Napoleon and thought what the heck, let’s read the granddaddy of em all. The Tolstoy was also three bucks in the thrift store.
Oh, who am I kidding…”War and Peace”? I’m using it as a doorstop to keep the bedroom door open when the window fan is on

Well then the Democrats should now sue Fox News every single effing time they lie about Biden, Kamala, ANY of their candidates. The money they raise alone would fund their next 50 election campaigns.
(Yes I'm exaggerating, but I've gotten sick and tired of one side always cheating and using the dirtiest tactics to silence any media criticism of their disturbing policies while the other side just sits there and takes it on the chin again and again from Rupert Murdoch's propaganda machine).
The Democrats and the Mainstream Media (but I repeat myself) did a bang up job in convincing everyone that an applesauce drooling Biden was sharp as a tack. When that narrative failed spectacularly hey presto change-o, look over here folks it’s Brat Summer with Kamala (why Johnsonville Brats never got onboard with that tie-in I’ll never know). The media spun everything they could to drag Kamala across the finish line including an unbelievably ridiculous last minute poll that had Iowa swinging to Harris. The third Obama administration ended not with a bang but with a whimper with Kamala passed out on the floor hugging that box of wine.
So now we have the Dems committing seppuku, anonymously and off the record of course to any outlet admitting that yeah Biden was brain dead, Kamala was a joke and yeah we screwed the pooch. So now we have the likes of Jake Tapper cashing in on a Now It Can Be Told/Sold tome that admits the media was lied to by the Dems. Ha. Oh that’s rich, you were lied to and not the ones doing the lying.
Never forget what Obama aide Ben Rhodes said about today’s media landscape:
