I missed too many New Music episodes as there was only one single TV (in our lounge) in our university dorm & some were more prone to favour Saturday Night Live.

I've got two; interference is never an issue.  One in kitchen, the other in my bedroom. Has Upnp.  Skytune is station aggregator but you can store raw URL streams on the radio so you're still OK if the aggregator disappears.  Has internal re-chargeable battery for moving around.

I'm not against the "hard questions".  It's the manner/style/timing I had issue with.   It was literally their 1st day on the job .. Chayka  & Mats were sitting right there .. Simmons was basically a rude "full of himself" jerk.

Simmons could have re-phased his questions & asked without the condescending belligerence to get to same points & actually get a much better answer; which is the goal of the session.   Be a "dick", then don't be surprised you get a "dick" response.   Simmons was "grandstanding", the story shouldn't be able the reporter.

Plus it was pretty darn short-sighted.   Going forward, Simmons will be last-in-line to hear anything from MSLE.   Dave Feschuk (of the story) is prone to the same "grandstanding" in hopes he looks like the "hard hitting" reporter .. look up when Feschuk asked Phil Kessel "if he was a coach-killer".  Phil just called Feschuk an idiot & walked away.  It was pretty funny to watch Feschuk grovel to Phil in a feeble attempt to regain any kind of relationship.

Chayka  was on OverDrive last night.  A good discussion where all 3 hosts asked real questions without being belligerent 'dicks'.

Wow ..  what a bush league, ass move by Simmons.

There's an appropriate time and place for questions are all types.  For Simmons to table those questions in that manner with that belligerent, condescending presentation at the introduction of Leafs new executive while the new guys are sitting right there is a unforgiveable lack of judgement, utter disrespect & pure lack of class.  Personally, I wouldn't blame anyone associated with the Leafs or MSLE if Simmons was never given the time of day going forward.

You might think such a terrible allegation is an important fact to explain to viewers and listeners. A complete report shouldn't be forcing me to Google, but all of theirs did.

re: My point is that none of the broadcast sources bothered to explain it. Not one.
none of the reports that you saw = anecdotal .. i saw reports that covered the suspension reason.

..

did you spend 10 seconds to Google?

AI Overview
In January 2021, the NHL suspended former Arizona Coyotes GM John Chayka for the remainder of the calendar year due to "conduct detrimental to the league and game". The suspension stemmed from a breakdown in his relationship with the Coyotes, where he breached his contract by pursuing other opportunities, and for illegal, private scouting combine testing of draft prospects.

It is just you & those of similar ilk who refuse to accept/acknowledge that others may indeed enjoy items you detest.  Events around the city do fall under the umbrella of news.

Think it through.  Maybe Jessica isn't interested in a part time gig where she only gets a shift when Lindsay is away.  When Lindsay is doing weather, having Jessica do city events keeps a qualified weather person (ie. Jessica) on staff for when Lindsay is away & there needs to be a fill in.

Hayes is a professional.  If Hayes responded in kind to O'Dog's pissy manner, the show quickly becomes a train wreck.

Oh I do agree about great guests and that Hayes, Noodles & O'Dog do compliment each other.  And yes, O'Dog can be quite funny at times.   But unlike O'Dog, Hayes & Noodles don't insult others when a differing opinion is tabled.  O'Dog did it again today when he mocked Frankie saying an ACL Partial Tear is often referred to as an ACL Sprain.

To each their own .. but for me, O'Dog's childish behaviour is tiresome, a negative and he really needs to "stay in his lane".

TSN Overdrive - Hayes is the host .. so why does O'Dog increasingly take it on himself to jump in & close out interviews.  Today was a prime example of O'Dog overstepping his role when he suddenly closed off the interview with Vegas Knights GM McCrimmon.

O'Dog is the weak link on the show .. too prone to repeat himself two, three, even four times while posing a question .. he's too thin skinned .. he's too prone to mock/insult others who offer a different opinion.

Hayes & Noodles are fine.  Simply put, Overdrive is better when O'Dog is not there.  I prefer Struddy or Jonas any day.
