The executive who quashed it said it wasn't ready for primetime. But with the original piece available all over the Internet, it should be interesting to see what - if anything - has changed in less than a month.

Weiss wanted a statement from the White House, and in particular, mentioned Stephen Miller (bluh). I wonder if CBS begged for a White House statement to use, especially with what seems to be Trump's interference in the merger of the company.

The Hollywood reporter story has the quote. He doesn't even mention Kirk. He was saying the shooter was probably a MAGA guy. And of course, the president has said the "extreme left" is to blame. So when does the president get cancelled???? I'm so glad I don't live in that shithole USA.

This is a little interesting. There is a video of TMZ doing their live stream, when news breaks that Taylor Swift is engaged. You can immediately see TMZ boss Harvey Levin stopping the topic that was being discussed, and asks where the story is coming from. Once hearing it's from Swift's instagram, they get to work.

Levin then asks someone to write one paragraph and get it on their website in 2 minutes. Then Levin himself gets behind a computer, typing up the story and asking staff for details.

The breaking news starts at 37:50 and goes for about 5 minutes after.

This decision really is a head scratcher. Doing taped segments on a "live" show seems weird to me. So you can make absolutely no specifics, just speak in general. Don't mention the beautiful day outside on tape, while live in the real world, it's raining cats and dogs. Just seems like a lot of work for little payoff.

An ad tonight during the Evening News says this summer, the Sportline podcast will air weekdays at 7pm and 11:30pm. That's Trending Now's current timeslots.

So is Trending Now on a summer break, or cancelled??

Jimmy T is no longer on the morning show. Melanie Martin is now solo. I think she just re-joined the station a few months ago.

Taylor Kaye working 10-2 on Legend 102.9. Here is a video posted today on her instagram. She has morning team Sunni and Hayes, and afternoon host Darrin Laidman with her. I was under the impression they all worked from home, but I guess that's wrong. They were all together in the studio.

This is in no way a dig at Rick, but for someone who was never trained in media or news, just won a temp contest, he has had quite a lot of lives in media jobs.

CHCH ran a 15 second commercial leading to an announcement on Friday. It's most likely Tim Bolen's replacement on Morning Live, but I'm not sure what the Tiger-Cats gear is all about.

You see a phone next to a microphone, Ticats jersey and helmet, then a hand on a counter-top next to a cup of coffee.

So I was thinking maybe CHCH was going to sponsor Hamilton Stadium, the home of the Ticats. It was called Tim Hortons Field, but that deal has ended and now just has a generic name.

But more likely, it's Tim's replacement. I've been thinking either weekend news anchor Adam Atkinson or reporter/podcaster Louie Butko would get the job. With the mic seen, it's like a podcast mic, and Louie was the weekend sports anchor before becoming the station's podcaster.

Then thinking outside the box, maybe it's former CHML host Rick Zamperin. He hosted the Ticats post-game show, The Fifth Quarter before CHML was closed down. So you have the radio mic, and Ticats link. And he has been a guest on the Sportsline podcast several times, so he knows people in the building. And we was CHML's morning show host.

All will be revealed this Friday at 8:40AM.
 

Ray Romano said on The Rich Eisen Show that he was originally cast on News Radio, but after one rehearsal, was replaced by Joe Rogan. I don't know if it was the same character they were both meant to play.

I noticed the intro to Trending Now tonight. I don't usually watch, but they now have Manesa in the opening montage for the show, while Nicole is still seen, Manesa is clearly more present, as she wasn't in the opening at all, even though she's been the defacto host for a very long time now.

I saw both on Milkman. March 5th for The Beat, and last week I think for Energy.
