I liked Anwar as a weather reporter and felt he was hard done by at CFTO. 
I'm in Ward 9 and I'll read his platform. My problem is that I like my present councillor Martin Reid.

Although channel 57 CITY  is back up,I still can't get channel info on the current or next upcoming program.  Does anyone have insight as to when that gets fixed?

I've found Gem to be a great  streaming source and I don't pay the premium. As far as I can tell, the only commercials I've seen are when I watch the national news.  Living in the GTA I like the news at 9pm instead of waiting for the OTA 10pm version.  I'm a late comer to Murdoch Mysteries so I started streaming from season 1 in the early summer and I'm loving it. No  commercials! Other programs I've watched that I think are good are North of North and Saint Pierre.  Give them a try and you might like them.  I'm getting my money's  worth.
 

dittodittoditto. Yes, I tuned out as well.  He raises my heart rate by increasing my anxiety. I need a calming voice after that which rules or Ben Mulroney.  Sometimes the 'off' switch  is your friend.

Yesterday CBC  Toronto news at 6  did not censor the clip

It's hard to talk about  radio and TV and not venture into politics. 
Once upon a time I primarily listened to and watched Corus stations, Global News and 640. I tolerated Alex Pierson up to a point but found it easy to turn her off. I found Kelly Cutrara to be pleasant, not too political, and not overbearing. I enjoyed Alan Carter's presentation style especially when he had his 1 hour noon radio  show and gave his personal comments and perspectives. Farah Nasser was a competent news broadcaster.

So what happened? They fired Alan, Farah, and Kelly. Alan was replaced with Antony Robart (he with the pinky finger problem)  and they added Ben Mulroney. His rants became less tolerable for me as time went on  but he went too far, again for me, when during the election campaign, he actually said that you'd have to be an idiot (words to that effect) to consider voting Liberal. So I guess, proportionately, we're a country of idiots! I wrote Corus a letter, got no response and I stopped listening to those stations.

It's no wonder to me why Corus is  doing so poorly when they water down and then pollute their talent pool.

The good news: The new Spence spots started airing on Tuesday (endlessly, of course) and Fiona announced her work is "done" and she's leaving. 

The bad news: unfortunately, she threatens to keep in touch "by phone."

You can't 'rightsize' your way to prosperity. Talent is talent and getting rid of Kelly Cutrara, Alan Carter and Farah Nasser did them no favours. On radio (640) they have skewed so far right (nothing wrong with 'right' per se) that the tone is vitriolic. As for Global TV there is some talent but Alan and Farah's replacements have watered the wine IMO.

One 'gift' this press secretary has is the ability to always talk with a smirk. Is there an implied punch line or does she have a hard time believing what she is saying?

My morning routine usually means I didn't have the opportunity to listen to Greg Brady often but I've never known him to speak with the vitriol of Ben or Alex when it comes to non conservatives. He seems to be more balanced.

You beat me to the punch! I turn the radio off  when I hear the Mega Tank commercial and sometimes I forget to turn it back on because I have moved on to some other activity. I think this is the third  iteration of running this commercial. The first was  a male and it was even worse, if that's possible.

Also, it could be one of the addon extensions on your browser that prevents it from playing. I use Firefox with the Duckduckgo privacy extension. I had to disable it for 640 and CBC. Good luck!
