Stern is even more risque then  when on terrestrial radio. You will not find it enjoyable if you think he has cleaned up his broadcasts. Be warned.

My Saturday mornings are spent in a 2019 Ford F550 Superduty flat bed tow truck serving the public and I have regularly tuned into AM640 between 8am and 11am to the Greg Carrasco show. There are moments that I find Greg's delivery somewhat condescending and altho I disagree with his lecturing style at times, I still enjoy the show, mostly for the call in segments. So, I was relieved this past Saturday that Greg announced he has signed a deal with Corrus to remain in that timeslot for another year. He had mentioned last week he was in negotiation and that it was possible he would not be on the air any longer and would have to go the podcast route if unsuccessful. As a guy who doesn't have internet available other than at home, I have to admit I would have missed my Saturday morning time with Greg and John but alls well that ends well, at least until next September. https://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons3/smile.png

D'Angelo Brands I think it was called, produced several beers and a juice at a plant just outside the front gate  of the Bruce nuclear facility . I made regular pick ups of Steelback and the other brews in the early 2000's when I was doing tractor trailer work . I remember the place being constantly  under construction so alot of money was spent. I still have a Steelback hat I was given back then.

My bet is Kelly will be co-hosting the morning  with Stafford while Supriya is on maternity leave. Kelly has expressed her admiration of the Staff many times.

As a constant listener of am640 I hate to see anyone lose their job. I have to admit, as much as Mr. Gurney was always well prepared with facts etc, the delivery was not always impressive to me. Now, I am the last guy to criticize any talk show host which is arguably the toughest gig in radio and I wish him well going forward. I also would like to hear Stafford back in that time slot . Sherman would be great in the noon - 2 period, sorry Tasha . With the impending maternity leave of the morning female host, I nominate Decker and Marshall to take on the morning show.

Well I did a tow to New Liskeard yesterday . Started out on Rock 95 Barrie until the Huntsville area , then CKAR Huntsville but signal faded near Powasson. Went with Kiss 100.5 North Bay to Temagami, then CJTT into New Liskeard. They had a Top 40 format until 4 pm, then switched to  classic rock . Side note, it was -27 degress in New Liskeard. By the time I got back to Orillia around 10 pm it was -10. I had Fresh 93.1 Barrie on from Bracebridge until back in Collingwood. They had the live broadcast from a bar in Midland on air. I still like that dance mix stuff driving at night. Reminds me of the old CFNY days.

I remember listening to at station only once when i was driving on the 401 maybe east of Coburg around 1975/76 and one of the tracks they played was by Gabor Szabo. I tried to tune it in Toronto and was never successful. I just googled the call letters and they were WSAY AM 1370 and apparently were progressive until 1979. I think they may have gone full time progressive at some point. Not sure if that's the station you are thinking of. Thet were not hard album rock but progressive.

I do remember the summer of 1973 I had a 1968 Torino convertible that only had a AM radio. That station came in as clearly as CJBQ did from next door Belleville. If I didn't have an 8 track playing, I had that station on in the car. They played album sides as well as individual tracks . I remember hearing The James Gang for the first time on that station and bought the album. Joey Edwards came on CJBQ at 7pm and played top 40 so I would tune in to him at night.

I was always the guy from away with no family close by and worked Christmas day during my radio days. The Christmas of 1976 in St Johns NFLD was so foggy that the city was virtually shut down. I ended up spending the entire day at Q93 AM as no one could get in to re leave me.

I did a 14 hour shift in my tow truck Christmas day and had Rock 95 on locally, then The Edge on a run into the GTA, and FM 96 London on a trip to Stratford. . Very few Christmas themed songs played on all 3 . Thank you Lord.

I spent my high school years riding a bus 30 miles every day in the Trenton area, , 1970-74. The driver would have always have WKBW AM on the radio . I believe it was Dan Nevereth as morning man. Must have been 1520 but I never really paid attention to that aspect. A bus full of teens made hearing anything clearly impossible. I usually had WCMF FM from Rochester on my own radios.

Yesterday was confusing  .I tuned in at 7am to hear local news and there was no newscast. The entire day was just teasers for a big surprise coming and station id's with an occasional weather forecast and auto pilot music, changing to Halloween themed tracks during the afternoon drive time.  . Today is the same with the odd spot and the new MaxFM sounders for the Best of the 70's , 80, and 90's, along with  the change in music. I did hear one saying they will be back to regular on Monday as Max FM. The Beach 97.7 signs have been removed from the station building .  So, my theory is they are taking a chance to be different from 95.1 The Peak as they both previously aired  pretty much the same playlist. Good luck to them. My only beef is reception in some areas of Collingwood is scratchy and as you head towards Thornbury it begins to cut in/out. They are supposed to be Wasaga Beach specific so I don't expect any change.

I will miss the Cam segments but he pretty much cut the chord with Oakley a few weeks back when  he had to phone in and said on air he didn't have time to do his appearances much longer due to other commitments. Cam has an online show that was not leaving him time to make it to the Corrus studios was his statement.

I found the WCFL item interesting. I used to listen to Super CFL at night with my transistor hidden in my pillow at age 12 or so . The signal would boom in at night in Trenton Ontario where my family resided those days. I recall Larry O'Brien and Lujack . Years later when my radio career had ended and I became a truck driver, I used to dial in AM1000 and listen to the re-roll of Steve Dahl and Gary Meir. Another guy from that era I really admired was Kevin Mathews, one of the most  creative shows ever.
