Thanks for highlighting this day in television history.  There never will be any show like it. If you put together the top 100 Sitcom episodes of all time, an argument could easily be made that the top 10, maybe even the top 20,  were  All In The Family episodes.  For me, the number one epsiode of all time was on February 19th, 1972, the night Sammy Davis Jr. plays himself. Non stop hysterical scenes and lines, beginning to end. Among them was classic Archie: "Sammy I wanted to ask, you being coloured, I know you had no choice about that.. but whatever made you turn Jew?"  The ending where Archie's friend Munson comes in with his camera, Sammy wants a picture with Archie,  and on the count of 3, Sammy kisses Archie on the cheek that he holds for about 5 seconds. The live audience goes wild.

At the time Kevin came to City TV, I guess around 1990-91, CityPulse News, like all of CityTV,  was properly referred to by many as leading edge.  We were unique and proud of it.   The belief was that not eveyone could do what we did.  You may have been able to do television news, but that doesn't mean you could do "City Pulse"  Was that arrogant?  Maybe. But it was true. Thats why I always felt so lucky that the powers to be felt I could be part of that team.

From the moment he did his first traffic report, it was clear that Kevin was going to have no problem. He fit in right away. He was City TV (as it used to be) through and through. Great talent. His success was no surprise.

Wow this discussion took me back in time.  The first Live Eye. Doing Intro's, extro's  and chats with Gord/Dina or Bill. How many times was I standing out in the cold, 30 seconds before they are supposed to come to me, with Cookie still working desperately to get that  elusive signal. Almost always, he would make sure it was there. It's with that truck we all learned how to do the the live "breathless", talk 2-3 minutes about what's happening behind you, and make sense doing so. I believe its why we were always so much better  than any other newsroom when it came to doing the live election shows, with the live hits from all the different locations.  Great history.  Great memories.
